There are two forms of AED membership: national and associate.

1. Alpha Epsilon Delta associate membership is open to all students. Benefits of associate membership include numerous volunteering opportunities, admission to all AED events and a $100 discount on Kaplan test prep courses. First years are only eligible for associate membership, which includes a fee of $10/semester. Contact the treasurer, Neel, or any other officer with questions or to pay associate membership.

2. Alpha Epsilon Delta national membership selection takes place only in the spring semester and is open to all second years and above who are current associate members. It is a prestigious honor recognizing outstanding scholarship of students interested in all areas of preprofessional health. It provides students with the opportunity to be part of a national group of students interested in professional health as a career. In addition, national membership enhances opportunities to establish and pursue contacts with health professionals. If selected for membership, students are expected to remain active in their local AED chapter, taking advantage of networking opportunities among members within the chapter as well as serving as mentors and future leaders to fellow students. On the chapter level, national membership allows the member to shadow surgeries at University Hospital and is a criterion for selection in a 1/2 off scholarship with Kaplan's MCAT course.

In accordance with the National Alpha Epsilon Delta Constitution and Bylaws, selection for national membership will be based on the following:

The grade point averages used to determine scholastic eligibility at the new school with be determined by averaging all grades from both old and new schools.
